Serving Children from 6 weeks to 5 years...
Infants
In our infant classrooms our children and families are supported by staff in developing bonds of love and trust. This foundation is important for both children and parents as it ensures that children feel safe and at home in the world as they grow. We also focus on stimulating cognitive skills including the learning process of memory, language, thinking, and reasoning. Children are encouraged in their large and small motor development as they learn to crawl, walk and feed themselves simple finger foods.
Toddlers
Our toddler class is encouraged to be more mobile and aware of themselves and their surroundings and to explore new materials. At this stage, toddlers will show greater independence, begin to show defiant behavior, recognize themselves in pictures or a mirror, and imitate the behaviors of others. Our focus includes helping our toddlers to recognize the names of familiar people and objects, form simple phrases, and follow simple directions.
Preschool
During the preschool years, children will continue to become more independent and will seek to make friends outside of the family unit. They become increasingly curious to explore and begin to ask many questions about their environment and the world. At this stage, children should be able to ride a tricycle, use safety scissors, notice the difference between girls and boys, help to dress themselves, and learn to play cooperatively with other children. Our teachers will facilitate a wide variety of learning experiences and projects to meet our preschoolers’ intellectual needs.
